Иконки и Device Stage

Предлагаю поделится, какие из ваших устройств имеют нестандартные иконки или, ещё лучше, Device Stage. Желательно показать и то, и другое

Собственно, из моих устройств - только МФУ Canon MP220:

У меня вот, единственное ((((

А у меня такая на мышь Logitech G9 =)

теперь и устройства HP наконец то появились)


правда иконка всё равно не настоящего мфу+)

Daemon Tools у вас Pro, Lite? Как так получилось?)
BT-адаптер у меня точно как у вас на иконке, но у меня иконки нет (сам производителя не помню, Windows определает как Cambridge Silicon Radio)
Как сделали иконку для W960, USB-подключение? Вдруг с моим W610 получится?
А для монтиора?) У меня правда не новый - SyncMaster 740B, 17"

Для чего из этого всего есть Device Stage?

Собственно, вся информация об устройствах Device Stage хранится в Системный диск:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Device Stage. Там можно ее и отредактировать.
Себе так настроил HP Photosmart C3100.

speedycars можешь черкнуть небольшой мануал как изменить инфу для устройств которые не имеют иконок и прочего в Device Stage, к примеру вот монитор, у меня такой же, а вот в "\ProgramData\Microsoft\Device Stage" и "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Device Metadata\dmrccache\" я не нашёл файлов, связанных с ним, чтобы изменить.

Hello, sorry for the long delay...

Here are the ready files for the devices on my screenshot:

They must be placed in C:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceMetadataStore\en-US
After refresh of device stage they will be active and will appear if you have some of mine devices with the same hardware id's.


If you would like to customize it for your devices you must do these things:
1) The ready files that I uploaded are regular .CAB files, so they can be opened/extracted with winrar for example.
2) After you've extracted it there is packageinfo.xml - there you must write the hardware id or ids for your particular device.
<HardwareID>DOID:HARDWAREID</HardwareID>
3) In DeviceInformation folder is the deviceinfo.xml file - there you must describe the device (category, manufacturer, modelname, modelnumber) and of course the main thing --> device icon. You could find some highres pictures of your device and convert it to ico file with Axialis Workshop for example and then put it with the corresponding name in the deviceinformation folder too.

Here are the categories:

4) After you'd customize all the info you'd wanted, it's time to CAB the file - I've made the following easy procedure for this --> first zip it or rar the whole thing, then convert it to cab with ArcConvert 0.57.
5) After you have a final cab file you must rename it to this format - 1e0ead7a-e0ce-4d40-bf1e-74cb43a14ff2.devicemetadata-ms (the order of numbers (0-9) and letters (a-f) must be unique!!!)
6) And the final step is to put the file into C:\programdata\Microsoft\Windows\DeviceMetadataStore\en-US.

All this is tested on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (with bulgarian localization) and with all official and ZukoBonus updates (10x Zukona! ;)).

I didn't succeed to do this for my Sony Ericsson W960i after a lot of tries, the result is just a blink of a new blank window for a second and nothing else...
