OS Merchant Domain Verification

I'm wondering how often the merchant's domain needs to be performed?

I have just added a merchant to my OS account and did the verification of the 9th of January.

I'm just wondering if this process can be automated? Seems a bit funny that I have to go into the dev console and create a new file for each month. There must be a simpler way?

If anybody has gone through a similar process then I would be interested in hearing what you have done to remedy this as I am growing a little bit tired on doing this month in month out.
